Chris, Terri, Tori & Will visited us for 5 jam packed days. Their visit included lunch at Chili's, visiting Uncle Geldo, hiking at Big Springs, swimming at Lava Hot Springs, attending The Wizard of Oz at the Mystique Theater, attending Ashlee Warth's wedding and just chillin' in grandma and grandpa's back yard. We had so much fun with them and miss them already!

It's a Snake!!

The day after we returned from our vacation I was outside looking over our yard. There had been some high wind while we were gone and I was checking to see how all the plants were doing. I noticed that the Clematis was torn away from the trellis, so I starting reattaching it. When I got ready to move on I noticed something move out of the corner of my eye. When I turned I saw this big snake and stopped dead in my tracks. I took a moment to see if it had rattles on it's tail, which it did not, so I yelled to Lynn to come out with the camera and we got these great pictures of a pretty big gopher snake. It's a Big Snake

This summer Lynn and I decided we would visit our daughter, Heather, in Anchrage, AK. We decide to drive to Seattle and fly from there so we could stop in Walla Walla and visit our friends Andrea and Jason. As it turned out Jason was returning from a conference and got delayed somewhere in the midwest due to weather. We didn't get to see him, but had a nice visit with Andrea.

We stayed with Heather in her beautiful new apartment and went to 3 BBQs in 7 days. We partied with Heather's friends and surrogate family and had a great time.

Then we flew back into Seattle and headed for the Oregon coast. It was breathtakingly beautiful! The weather was still a little chilly, but sunny and clear. We drove up and down the coast and had a wonderful time.

May 13th Uncle Geldo (and my godfather) celebrated his 96th birthday! John, Pat, Lynn and I took him to Craigo's for some Italian food. We enjoyed spending some time with him and he enjoyed getting out of the house. I hope if I live to be 96 I am doing as well as Uncle Geldo!

Cookie Ditto and I took a jewelry making class and I made these on my first try. I think I'm going to love this class!

Saturday, April 19th, we were lucky enough to take a trip back in time to the late 60s with our friends the Clarks and the Dittos. We attended a sold out performance of the Smothers Brothers. They were very very funny and brought back memories of sitting in front of the television waiting to see what antics would get censored that particular week. They often spoke out against the Viet Nam war and made references to pot smoking, so they were constantly censored. Finally, the network pulled the plug on the show and that was that. The things they were censored for now seem so trivial in our modern "anything goes" society. They are still superb musicians, comedians and story tellers, but the one thing I don't understand is how they got so old and we didn't! LOL
